quick news: Do You Know Your Keyboard Shortcuts?

August 24, 2011 By sybariticsinger Leave a Comment

My dearest friends, it is that time of the year. The time when freshly sharpened pencils, newly printed divider tabs, and things like staple removers become exciting again. I am sure you guessed it – it’s “back to school” time! While I was taking a break from a much bigger post I’m writing, I stumbled across this article in the Atlantic online that blew my mind. Dan Russell, a search anthropologist (yeah, sweet job, right?) at Google, found that 90% of the people he studied do not know how to use the CTRL + F command to find something in a document or web page.

This little nugget of information made me think about all the keyboard shortcuts singers use all the time. (I’ve gotten really good at typing “Mon cœur s’ouvre à ta voix” in the last few years.) In an effort to get your diacritical marks in résumé (see what I did there?) and research paper form, I have supplied you with a handy little infographic.

Happy typing!
